Hey there!
Did anyone else catch a nasty bug in the last few weeks?
I was absolutely knocked out COLD (no pun intended) by the germ that rudely infiltrated my immune system during the first two weeks of January… and made me fall back on a bunch of my New Years’ resolutions.
I could barely eat, sleep, talk, or even breathe! I was congested to the point that I could barely hear anything – just muffled sounds. And the barking cough left me breathless at times… I really thought I was going to have an asthma attack, which I haven’t had in years.
It turns out everyone, if not you reading this, someone you know, has been hit with some sort of icky germ floating around to make all of us miserable for a good two weeks. My parents, friends, my friends’ parents – we’ve all been hit with something!
But, nursing a cold, COVID, or flu with lots of rest and self-care is the best way to start feeling better! And what better way to do so than with our adorable friend, Hello Kitty?
If not for yourself, cheer a Hello Kitty-loving friend with a sweet care package featuring their favorite character!
1. Hello Kitty Chicken Noodle Soup
First on this list, we have soup – you have to have soup when your nose is clogged, and your throat is sore. It’s truly the best holistic treatment for warming up a cold. This noodle soup is vegan, packs more protein than most soups on the market, and has 25% less sodium than other soup cups. Plus, it’ll be ready in 3 min!

It’s also available on Amazon!
2. Hello Kitty Facial Tissues
Second, you will definitely need tissues – LOTS OF TISSUES. I went through 3 WHOLE BOXES by myself in less than two weeks. I forgot just how much mucus and fluid the body is capable of producing during a hyper-inflammatory episode.

For the love of everything that is good, PLEASE do not cheap out and use toilet paper or paper towels on your face. When you’re constantly sneezing or leaking fluids, cheaper alternatives will roughen up, cut, and dry your already sensitive skin even more. Don’t be more miserable than you already are.
For only $10, you can get a set of 6 packs of portable Hello Kitty tissues – perfect for work, school, or your pockets when lounging around the house!
3. Hello Kitty & Friends Face Masks
If you must go out when you’re sick, definitely wear a face mask. Not only are you protecting others from getting sick, but you are also protecting yourself from catching any other nasty bugs!

I have a very small face, so I can get away with wearing kids’ face masks, like these super cute Hello Kitty patterned masks on Amazon: Amazon.com: EllieHouse Kids Face_Mask Childrens 50PCS Earloop Protective Breathable Kids Face_Masks (KIT) : EllieHouse: Industrial & Scientific
If the designs are not your style or you need adult-sized masks, definitely check out these limited-edition masks from The Creme Shop featuring Kuromi and My Melody!

4. Hello Kitty & Friends Hand Creams

It’s a must-have when you’re sick! I can’t count the number of times I washed my hands in a single day when sick. I wanted to limit as much as possible the risk of infecting others in my household or reinfecting myself with something else.
And if you’re not sick, you still need to wash your hands.
But all that handwashing will leave you with dry, cracked skin on your hands if you don’t moisturize right after, adding to your misery and discomfort. This is especially true for those of us living in frigidly cold areas.
The Creme Shop has a whole arsenal of hand creams featuring your favorite Sanrio characters and a whole variety of scents to choose from. Check it out here: Shea Butter Hand Cream – The Crème Shop (thecremeshop.com)
My favorites include this travel size version of the Hello Kitty Handy Dandy Cream in Birthday Cake scent and in Holiday Sweet Peppermint. I found that these scents are quite mild and less irritating to your nasal passages than some of the other stronger scents, but definitely check out this collection!
5. Hello Kitty Lip Balms
Another part of the body that will experience dehydration while fighting off a cold or flu is your lips. Drink plenty of water and wear plenty of lip balm to keep your lips and the skin around it from chapping and cracking.
Thankfully, lip balm is widely available in this market, and many brands have partnered up with Sanrio x Hello Kitty to produce adorable and effective lip balms to soothe any dryness and flakes.
For $12, you can get 10 Hello Kitty x Friends Lip Smacker lip balms featuring deliciously smelling and tasting varieties!
If you prefer berry and fruit varieties with a consistency similar to EOS lip balms, check out these Hello Kitty, Kuromi, Cinnamoroll, Gudetama, and even Pompompurin lip balms: Lips – The Crème Shop (thecremeshop.com) - they’re SO CUTE!

If you would like something a little more luxurious and targeted, check out the day and night lip serums and balms from the Pixi Beauty x Hello Kitty collection. I prefer the night one because it’s colorless, and I don’t want to mess with makeup when sick.

6. Hello Kitty Depuffing Eye Patches

I had A LOT of trouble sleeping when I was sick. I was tossing and turning or coughing and sneezing. I got barely any sleep, and it showed when I looked at under my eyes in the mirror the next day.
Puffy, dark, and dry – so uncomfortable!
If this sounds like you (or a friend), consider getting these reusable gel eye masks from The Creme Shop. You can refrigerate them for a cooling sensation to depuff your eyes or microwave them for a warming feeling to help drain any excess fluid in those cavities.
The Creme Shop does have disposable eye patches that offer other effects, like brightening and hydrating, but I find that these do the trick just as well (and you get more bang for your buck!).
7. Hello Kitty Humidifier

Yes, you read that right.
Hello Kitty is even there to humidify your life.
I don’t personally own this product, but it came up in my recommendations when I was preparing this list, and the cost ($51) is comparable to my own humidifier. It does look quite small and is marketed for small rooms, so keep that in mind if you’re interested in this product.
I will, however, say that a humidifier is essential if you’re prone to developing barking coughs that leave your throat and nasal passages drier than the Sahara Desert. I can’t even begin to describe how much better I felt when the air was misty and crisp instead of dry and stuffy.
And that’s it for this guide!
Of course, if you’re isolating like I was, keep yourself company with your favorite Hello Kitty plushies, if you have them. After all, hugging a cherished plushie can help soothe feelings of loneliness that undoubtedly arise during isolation.
If you can, avoid getting sick!
Prevention is key, so be sure to:
- Eat healthy and balanced meals every day to boost your immune system!
- Drink lots of water to stay hydrated.
- If possible, stay up to date with your flu and COVID vaccines!
- Stay away from sick people – if you want to prepare a care package from the list above, have the items shipped to your friend or wrap it up and drop it off at their front door for contactless delivery.
- And remember: sharing is not always caring. Keep your personal items personal – this means your utensils, pens, towels, drinking glasses, straws, makeup, clothes – everything.
In the end, our adorable friends over at Sanrio won’t prevent you from catching a cold, but they’ve got your back if you do fall down.
Stay warm and stay safe friends!
