Hello (again) everyone!
Yes, I’m back again with another post tonight. I’m making up for lost time, and I really want to show off my cute sticker collection and share some DIY ideas using these stickers.
A fun and easy way to show your love for Hello Kitty and Sanrio is through stickers. I love stickers because they are incredibly accessible, affordable, and versatile. You can find a variety of stickers in retail stores, online, obscure mom & pop shops, and even your local gas station!
The collections are infinitely vast, and it takes a treasure hunting beast to collect all the Hello Kitty & Sanrio character stickers all over the world. Today, I wanted to share with you the stickers I’ve encountered over the past few months and what I’ve done with them.
Regular/Variety Pack Stickers

Where to buy: Anywhere – for the cheapest prices, you can get these at Walmart, Target, and Amazon.
DIY projects & ideas:
Regular 2D stickers are great for scrapbooking and decorating your books, notebooks, stationery, laptop, vanity, desk, and even bed frame!
Teachers can get the 200 sticker sheets and reward students for a job well done in class.
And now, let’s say you’re like me… strapped for cash but still seeking to enjoy the luxurious things in life.
Last Christmas, I really wanted the Zojirushi x Hello Kitty Rice Cooker. After all, my 10-year-old rice cooker that my mom passed down to me passed away to a better life in appliance heaven, and why not indulge a bit? It’s from a good brand, and the simplistic but elegant design is a great fit for any kitchen.
The problem is that it’s $150… That’s steep for a rice cooker.
So, I bought a regular $20-$30 rice cooker from Amazon and slapped some of my favorite Hello Kitty stickers on it. (I would have taken a picture of it if wasn’t sitting in a moving box at this time!)
Same with my jewelry box. The cheapest branded one I could find was $40 on sale, so I bought a $10-$12 one on Amazon and decorated it with stickers. It looks cute and is equally as functional as the pricier ones.

It’s an affordable, accessible, and easy DIY project you can work on by yourself, your kids, or even as a gift to give a Hello Kitty fan!
Puffy 3D Stickers

Where to buy: I got mine at FYE a few months ago, and I don’t see that they carry the exact sticker sheet I have online. You may want to visit your local FYE or Michael’s store to see what’s available. Again, Walmart, Target, and Amazon will be your best bets to get these stickers at the cheapest price while offering a wide range of options.
You can get some vintage ones at Etsy and Ebay, like this sticker sheet from 1981 (just be ready to bid high – HK is no joke for collectors!).
DIY Projects & Ideas:
Again, these stickers are best for decorating, but due to the 3D nature of these stickers, it’s best to use them on flat, reflective surfaces, like your phone, TV, hard-cover plastic books, and even your mirrors. They’ll fall off if you stick them on any rounded or curved surfaces. To keep them on, you may need to use super glue and risk damaging the surface underneath.
Some puffy stickers are activity stickers that you can reuse to create a variety of different scenarios. These are especially fun for kids or adults needing a cute & fun distraction. I got mine at Miniso, but they might be available online at discount stores.

Device Decals

Where to buy: Believe it or not, Books-a-Million, FYE, and Barnes & Noble might be the easiest places to look for and buy these in person (and sometimes, online). The Trends International Store on Amazon is your best bet at finding the largest variety and most current collections.
DIY Projects & Ideas:
As the name suggests, these stickers are best stuck on your devices, namely your laptop, which is what I did with these Gudetama decals, phone, TV, and even your thermos!
If you don’t want to spend a lot of money (or it sold out) on a Hello Kitty/Sanrio-themed skin for your Nintendo Switch, Xbox controller, mouse, or other gaming device, then I recommend giving these decals a try. They are typically anti-scratch and peel off easily if you want to experiment with different styles.
Nail Stickers

Yes, I know – nail stickers aren’t exactly in the same category as decorative stickers, but you can use them for fine detailing decorations, like bracelets and rings. Just be sure you use a strong enough sealant so that the sticker lasts a long time.
Where to buy: The Creme Shop, Hot Topic, and BoxLunch are leading the game in this department.
FYI: The Creme Shop cleared its stock out of the nail stickers they were selling just a week ago. I managed to get my hands on one of the last limited-edition nail stickers for Christmas 2023, and it was at Home Goods of all places. You can find them at a discounted price at World Market.

If I had to choose between one brand, I would go with the Creme Shop stickers. The quality is so much better, with minimal to no damage to your nails, easy to apply and remove, and great for kids and nail art beginners.
Main Takeaway: Stickers rock!
I know this post doesn’t offer any mind blowing, groundbreaking ideas, but it’s very easy for us to get sucked into the luxury items branded with our favorite characters. Not everyone can afford these products, and I wanted to give people who are struggling to make ends meet some simple, accessible, and affordable gift and DIY project ideas that will make their Hello Kitty-loving friends, children, or coworkers joyful during the holiday season.
Stay warm, take care, and happy holidays!
